What I think that this quote means is that "A good name is rather to be chosen than great riches" what I think that this quote means is that having a good name is better than great riches because if you are rich and famous people are going to be knowing you but you might do something bad and that bad thing that you did is going to get you a bad name. But if your rich and famous people are going to make a bad to you because you are going to be thinking that you have everything in the world and you are going to think that you are better than every one who doesnt have what you have and you are also going to be thinking that you are better than everyone because you are famous and have alot of money. But if you are not rich and are a normal person who does not have alot of money and is not ous then you are going to have a good name. You are going to have a good name because you are not famous and your not rich and you dont think that your better than everyone because your a normal person. You could have a good name by being helpful in your community by cleaning up any trash thats on the street and throwing it away whee it belongs.
